Calling all Scouts! Many of you have children involved in the various Scouting programs offered locally (Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Trail Life, and Campfire Boys and Girls). Specific to Orthodoxy, there are three categories of awards for Scouts that were created and are managed by the Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting (EOCS). This EOCS was created by the Assembly of Bishops. The goal of the Scouting Committee at St. George is to help Scouts earn the religious awards offered by EOCS for their age group. Our goals are also to help Scouts form close bonds with other Scouts to solidify stepping stones on their life’s religious journey.
Scout Sunday is February 22, 2026, please wear your uniforms. If your child is in scouting, please sign-up with Fr. Peter or Lynne Emanuel for awards they could obtain: St. George Emblem (grades 1-4); Chi-Rho Award (grades 5-7); or the Alpha-Omega Award (grades 7-12).
