About 50 Plus
The Fifty Plus Group is for Christian fellowship organized for those in the parish who are 50 years or older. In the early years of the parish, there was no need for such an organization for the vast majority of the membership was composed of young married couples with small children.
In recent years, the organization has grown into a strong and viable community group. They meet twice a month for lunch and have special events at these meetings such as speakers and other activities. They also have a very active social calendar by attending various museums, galleries, and taking tours of important and historic sites.
The Fifty Plus Group has become an important part of raising funds for the parish through their efforts at the twice-yearly-held St. George Festivals and also providing funds for charitable and development needs.
