Brothers and Sisters:
I'm sure you are well aware of the tragic fires that have taken siege of the Greek homeland. This is a tragedy for the country and for her people, many of whom are left homeless and dispossessed. Below, you will find an Encyclical Letter from His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros regarding the fires and the support he calls us to for our Greek brothers and sisters. This Sunday, August 15, we will pass a second tray to benefit the Greek people and to assist them in beginning to rebuild and restore their homes and land.
I ask you, along with His Eminence, to generously give to this collection and to pray fervently for our brothers and sisters, relatives and friends who are enduring this natural disaster. May the Lord be with them, lift them up in hope, and bring restoration to our ancient Hellenic lands.
