It is with a heavy heart that we announce the repose of our sister, Diakonissa Amalia (Lia) Collis Kent, whom the Lord called to Himself in peace on December 11th in the 56th year of her earthly life.  The daughter of the late Peter Tak Collis, she is survived by her beloved husband, Fr. Deacon Gerasimos (Gary) R. Kent; her loving children, Maria (Michael Beers, grandson Liam Nektarios), Richard (Marianne), Eleni, and Joanna; mother, Maria Collis; sister, Sophia (Joseph Werning) and many nieces and nephews. Daughter of a charter family of the Bethesda St. George parish, Lia grew up, married and with her husband Gary, raised their family at St. George. As a faithful servant of God, Lia served as a Sunday School teacher, was actively involved in the Philoptochos (having served as President 2009-10) and was instrumental in spearheading the Challenge Liturgy, a  ministry most dear to her heart.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 15, at 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, MA. Internment will take place at Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford MA.  Due to ongoing  Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be live-streamed on the Sts.
