Saturday, April 4, 2020 – Fifth Saturday of Lent

Dear St. George Family,

I pray this letter finds you and your families well. Even though we have not seen each other in church over these past weeks, I know that your spirit is with me during the Divine Liturgy, even as we are live streaming the Church Services.

One factor of all of this is that there can be only one priest per altar. As a result those priests who do not have a parish of their own, are unable to celebrate the Divine Liturgy. Since Fr. Stefanos Alexopoulos has not been able to celebrate the Divine Liturgy, I have stepped back this weekend so he can celebrate the Divine Liturgy.

As I shared last weekend, the Department of Religious Education of our Archdiocese (DRE) has been providing “Religious Education at Home” lessons, that covers age groups from PreK to High School and even to Adults, providing activities, crafts, and discussion questions which can be made use for your family’s spiritual growth and to keep them connected with the Church, even though we are physically separated for now. Truly this is for everyone!

The “Religious Education at Home” lessons can be found at the Department’s page: https://www.goarch.org/-/religious-education-at-home

Fr. Anton Vrame, Director of the Archdiocese Department of Religious Education, has also included a lesson for tomorrow, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt: https://www.goarch.org/-/religious-ed-at-home-week-3

My beloved, please know that you are all in my prayers and please keep me in yours.

Faithfully yours,

Fr. Dimitrios
