LIVE ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 2018-2019:  Each Sunday at 11:30 AM the St. George Adult Religious Education program meets in the Church Library and is live streamed to a global audience through the Orthodox Christian Network Facebook page. People all over the world listen to our class, write in their comments, and interact with your fellow parishioners in real time. On December 16 our class on “Evangelism and the Orthodox Church” was connected globally to the Orthodox faithful in the U.S. and many other countries. Comments from our global audience this Sunday included: “It is wonderful and so appreciated having you share with us about Orthodoxy…” and “your class helps me build on my faith and I am grateful.”  Click this link to watch it using Facebook or click this link to watch from any device now and share with your family and friends!

FOR REFLECTION…
In the ancient liturgical tradition of the Christian Church, during the final days before the commemoration of the Nativity of the Lord, the “O Antiphons” were sung as part of the Hours of Prayer. Reflect on these prayerful exclamations as you prepare to remember the birth of Him who brought life and light to the world.December 17: O Wisdom of our God Most High, guiding creation with power and love: come to teach us the path of knowledge!

December 18:  O Leader of the House of Israel, giver of the Law to Moses on Sinai: come to rescue us with your mighty power!

December 19: O Root of Jesse’s stem, sign of God’s love for all his people: come to save us without delay!

December 20: O Key of David, opening the gates of God’s eternal Kingdom: come and free the prisoners of darkness!

December 21: O Emmanuel, our King and Giver of Law: come to save us, Lord our God!

December 22: O King of all nations and keystone of the Church: come and save us, whom you formed from the dust!
